New discount for SWS members

I have recently negotiated preferential terms (that's a discount to you or me) with Yorkshire-based model wholesaler Tiger Hobbies.  Basically as a society we get trade terms on most of the product lines Tiger carries.

As well as a range of plastic kits from Academy, Trumpeter, Eduard, Meng, Dragon, Hobby Boss, Italeri, Master Box and Miniart, there are diecasts in various scales and 1/32 toy soldiers from Armies in Plastic, Call to Arms and Supreme.

It has been agreed that the only points of contact will be Lloyd and myself, so if you would like to place an order please speak to one of us.

Start 'em young!

Long standing Sheffield Wargames Society members Emma and Ian Godley visited the club last week for the first time in a while.  The frankly rather feeble excuse for their absence was the birth last November of their son Will.
As Emma has let me know in advance they were coming I arranged on behalf of the club to present Will with his first toy soldiers.  Above is the little chap with his box of little chaps, below the ensemble with proud mum Emma.

My apologies for the quality of the photos - iPhone + poor light + incompetent photographer.

And finally - because I know someone will ask - the toys are Armies in Plastic set 5617 - British Infantry at Waterloo.  1/32 scale in bright red plastic.

Wednesday 25 February

Members are advised that again we will not have access to the hall until 7.30pm.

A Committee Meeting was held on 18 Feb to discuss Triples.  The consensus was that we will stick with the EIS venue but move (from 2016) to an earlier date in March - nearer the 'traditional' date for the show.

A new SWS website is under development and can be found here:  http://sheffieldtriples.co.uk/
